The job is essentially to assist the chefs before, during and after service:


To follow the information and instructions given by the duty chef Support a clean, safe and hygienic kitchen environment To use correct equipment, crockery, cutlery and utensils, as per your training To ensure the floor areas are kept clean, dry and free from debris To take ownership of the your section - producing menu items as per the Company specification To support the kitchen team with food preparation and the safe receipt and storage of food Assist the Kitchen Porter whilst on session, if necessary

Training to include - basic knife skills, HACCP/CCPs and temperature controls (food, fridges and storage), veg prep and correct garnishes for service, correct use of the appropriate colour coded boards with discussion of controls for high risk food prep, use of the intranet to source recipes specifications, portion control, managing waste and the impact on GP.
