Full and Part time Catering Assistant's and Barista's required for local coffee shop and cafe in the Milngavie area of East Dunbartonshire.

Duties to include:

Food preparation, Basic cooking and Serving customers

Flexible working hours available: Monday through Sunday, 845am - 1715pm

Main Purpose:

Preparation and service of food and beverages.

Activity:

Catering Assistant/Barista. Preparation and light cooking of breakfast, lunches and main meals. Serving food in an efficient, friendly manner and engaging with customers in the process. Washing up kitchen equipment. Cleaning dining area and kitchen premises. Cleaning kitchen equipment.

Hygiene and Safety:

To be aware of the need for good hygiene practices and ensure high standards of personal hygiene. Ensure high standards of kitchen hygiene in the preparation and service of food. Ensure high standards of cleanliness of equipment and premises. To be familiar with and carry out Health and Safety Policy.

Person Specification for Catering Assistant

Experience:

Some experience of serving of food within a catering operation (e.g. school, restaurant, coffee shop, take away or similar) Frontline face-to-face experience with dealing with members of the public.

Qualifications or training:

Must possess a valid Food Hygiene qualification, or be willing to train for one.

Practical Skills:

Able to follow instructions, i.e. menus, recipes, guidelines, Codes of Practice, Health & Safety Policy. Able to use general catering equipment, safely and correctly.

Personal Qualities and Attributes:

Able to adhere to personal hygiene standards. Polite, courteous and friendly towards customers and colleagues. Willing and capable to be flexible and adjust to various work place duties and hours. Capable and willing to work on own initiative.
