The Assistant Cook will be central to ensuring that the team of catering assistants are effectively supported and organised in order to produce and maintain high standards of hygiene, quality and presentation.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks
The postholder will be responsible for assisting the Catering Manager with the day to day
management of the site catering contract.
To prepare and cook food and beverages.
To serve meals.
To set up and clear away the dining room area.
To clean the kitchen and/or dining area.
To assist in the planning of menus and ordering of food.
To assist the Catering Manager with the day-to-day supervision of the kitchen staff.
To take responsibility, in the absence of the Catering Manager, for the running of the kitchen and the catering facilities.
To assist with maintaining correct records of food stocks, money and equipment.
To ensure that all health and safety policies are adhered to by all staff.
Other Responsibilities
To ensure all duties and responsibilities are discharged in accordance with the school's Health and Safety at Work Policy.
To participate in the school's Professional Development Review cycle and ensure that targets are set and met within the agreed timescale.
To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
To undertake all reasonable other duties as directed by the Headteacher.

Pay: 12.45-12.65 per hour
