The Opportunity
You'll play a key role in inspiring and supporting the next generation of chefs and hospitality professionals. You'll deliver engaging, hands-on lessons that bring catering theory and practice to life, helping our students develop their culinary skills, creativity, and confidence in a professional kitchen environment.
Working closely with the Course Leader, you'll deliver a range of catering and hospitality courses from Level 1 to Level 3, ensuring that teaching is engaging, inclusive, and aligned with curriculum standards. You'll plan, prepare, and deliver creative lessons that meet the needs of individual learners, using a variety of teaching methodologies to promote progress and achievement. You'll assess our students' work through practical assessments, coursework, and observations, providing timely, constructive feedback and maintaining accurate records of achievement, attendance, and progression in line with college and awarding body requirements.
You'll support our learners to develop both technical and employability skills that are essential within the catering and hospitality sector, embedding English, maths, digital skills, and professional behaviours within your sessions. You'll also contribute to curriculum development, ensuring that resources and materials remain current, innovative, and industry relevant. In your teaching, you'll supervise our learners in our professional kitchens and restaurant settings, maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism at all times.
As part of your role, you'll take part in team meetings, departmental development sessions, and standardisation activities to maintain high teaching and assessment standards. You'll also assist with office-based duties such as answering calls, welcoming visitors, and engaging with employers and industry partners to enhance the learner experience through guest sessions, work placements, and live catering events.
This is your opportunity to share your industry knowledge and contribute to shaping future careers in the hospitality and catering industry while ensuring that our learners receive the support, challenge, and inspiration they need to succeed.

You'll have a minimum of three years' industrial experience working within the catering and hospitality industry, allowing you to draw on real-world knowledge to create engaging, practical lessons that inspire learners to build their culinary skills and confidence.
You'll use your strong understanding of the industry to train and assess our students effectively, using a range of teaching methods to meet different learning needs. You'll communicate confidently with students, colleagues, and industry partners at all levels, fostering positive relationships that support learning and collaboration. With excellent organisational skills, you'll be able to plan, prioritise, and manage resources efficiently, working to a budget when required.
Your solid IT skills will enable you to prepare teaching materials, track assessments, and make effective use of digital tools to enhance the learning experience. You'll hold, or be willing to work towards, a recognised teaching qualification and have a sound understanding of curriculum delivery, assessment methods, and quality assurance processes.
