Job Description

The purpose of this role is to support the Catering Team developer with the day to day running of the cafe and provide a high standard of customer service.

MAIN DUTIES



To support the Catering Team Developer with the Day to day running of the cafe & bake. Food production of small cafe menu, following processes in place Bake counter duties and related tasks Serve customers efficiently with food and drink orders and take payment Ensure the preparation of cafe counters before, during and at the end of service Ordering of goods via bake each day to ensure stock control at cafe Demonstrate the highest standards of customer service and care Ability to audit and monitor stock and waste management Ability to build rapport with the team and the public Ability to communicate through active listening, clear and concise direction with positive language and approach Ability to problem solve Ability to innovate and motivate others Give advice, guidance and recommendations on products and menu selections to customers to ensure a positive experience and repeat business Ensure adequate stock levels of supplies and consumables for the cafe, managing orders and stock rotation Ability to use the till and follow cashing up and end of day closure Managing customer complaints in the first instance and reporting to catering Team Developer Responsible for security (Product & cash), taking payments accurately Keeping up to date with special promotions and creating displays Operates within health, hygiene, food preparation and cooking procedures Ensures safe use of kitchen equipment and ensures all HACCP controls are being adhered to, records and monitors working practices and cooking methods, maintaining the 5-star hygiene rating from the Food standards agency/council ratings. To ensure cleaning standards are exceptionally high as expected by the company(Training and guidance will be given to achieve this essential requirement)

Catering Team member Person Specification



Previous working experience as a catering assistant, is desirable, but you commitment and values are important, we will train you to upskill

Have a friendly and engaging personality, a good communicator, able to work under pressure

Comfortable working with members of the public, able to initiate conversations and provide a sincere welcome

To be willing to learn and take direction and work under own initiative and able to multi-task

Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

An effective, well organised and efficient team player

Knowledge of till operation and cash handling, training will be provided

Problem-solving aptitude

Flexible approach to working

Social media and marketing skills

Up to date with food safety training, training will be provided

Additional hours may be required as needed by the business
