Fly Cup is a social enterprise which enables adults with learning disabilities and difficulties to access skills development, training and employment opportunities within the catering sector.
It provides its trainees with work experience through its cafe, bakery and outside catering services.

Our Training Lead will provide all trainees with the bests learning experience for them in a work-based environment which may include facilitating them to gain qualifications. You are also required to plan, organise, direct and control the work operations in the kitchen, cafe and meetings rooms to ensure they run smoothly and are commercially viable.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
These will include, but not limited to:
Catering and Hospitality
Carry out all duties required to deliver high quality catering products to meet the demands from customers in the cafe, outside catering and bakery goods.
Create a customer focused environment
Deliver and suggest ideas for promotions to increase sales for the catering operations and bakery products.
Production of catering products will be achieved through working with, training, managing and directing trainees to ensure they are experiencing quality, work-based learning
Trainees
Ensure all trainees are supported to choose an area of work where they will take on responsibility for their work and help in training new trainees, those on a learning journey or working towards employment
Conduct training and assessment with the learner in the working environment, using national occupational standards and evidence requirements, set by appropriate awarding bodies and sector skills councils to achieve their frameworks.
Undertake activities with either individuals or groups of trainees to ensure their safety and facilitate their physical, emotional and educational development.
Health and Safety
Know and abide by Health and Safety regulations, policies and procedures within Fly Cup Enterprises Ltd and other company premises and be aware of good practice in the working environment
.
Ensure all trainees are supported to choose an area of work where they will take on responsibility for their work and help in training new trainees, those on a learning journey or working towards employment
Staff
Line management duties including, carrying out 1:1 meetings
Deliver induction training for new staff
Identifying and ensuring staff are supported to keep up to date with training
Staff development and training plans
Ensure quality, open communication across the teams for who you are responsible
Skills, Knowledge and Attributes
Work experience in a catering establishment
Ability to plan and organise people at work
Ability to persuade and motivate
Ability to give and receive direction
Ability to give and receive feedback
IT skills
Ability to work with and support trainees in challenging situations with minimum supervision
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Energy, enthusiasm and stamina in the face of a difficult and challenging area of work
Willing to undertake / have A1 Assessor Award and to achieve this within 9 months of employment.
