We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Catering/Cafe Coordinator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the preparation and service of food within our Community Hub Cafe, maintaining all relevant food and hygiene regulations, and adhering to food safety standards. This position requires good communication skills, a heart for serving others, and the ability to work effectively with the volunteer team, as well as closely with The Hope Centre Manager.
Responsibilities
Prepare and serve food and beverages in line with food hygiene regulations, ensuring consistency, quality, and a positive customer experience.
Maintain exemplary standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the cafe and kitchen, in compliance with all relevant food safety legislation.
Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly cleaned, maintained, and in safe working order.
Order and manage stock efficiently, maintaining adequate supplies while minimising waste.
Supervise, and support cafe volunteers where appropriate, fostering a positive and inclusive team environment.
Work closely with The Hope Centre Manager to plan and prepare food for events and community activities.
Participate in general cleaning and tidying duties before, during, and after food preparation and service.
Implement and maintain effective pest prevention and control measures.
Be fully aware of allergen risks. Ensure procedures are in place for safely handling, labelling, and communicating allergen information.
Follow all health and safety policies and procedures. Maintain relevant food hygiene certifications and ensure volunteers follow best practices.
Skills
Level 3 Catering and Hospitality obtained, or working towards, is desirable.
Previous experience in a retail/catering environment is highly desirable.
Knowledge of culinary practices, including food safety regulations.
Barista skills an advantage but not essential.
Excellent organisational skills with a keen attention to detail.
Strong communication skills.
A passion for food and hospitality, along with a commitment to serve the local community.

Pay: From 12.60 per hour
