About Us:
Leeway was established in 1974 with the help of 200 start-up grant from Norwich City Council. Over the past four decades the charity has grown from those humble beginnings and we now have nine safe houses and a team of more than 100 people providing advice, support and information to any adult or child experiencing domestic abuse in Norfolk and Suffolk.
The Role:
We are seeking a Children & Young Persons Positive Relationship Outreach Workerto join our CAYPO team to provide a flexible, effective, safe, supportive and confidential service for young people Under 18 (up to 25 if identified as SEND) who have experienced domestic abuse either within their own home, or their personal relationships. You will offer emotional and practical support individually to young people and deliver information and support group sessions to young people / professionals on the impact of domestic abuse on young people. You will deliver support either one to one or through groups, online or face to face, to promote positive messages for healthy relationships using a range of methods, such as attending wellbeing events, social media or developing and distributing leaflets, while following the CAYPO team operational Policies & Procedures and supporting the CAYPO team coordinator in working towards the best possible outcomes for young people.
Essential Job requirements:
Level 3 Childcare or youth work qualification.
Experience of working with young people individually and in a group setting, virtually and face to face.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to be creative, plan and run youth activities.
Ability to operate record and maintain administrative systems.
Experience of delivering presentations.
Ability to be flexible and work independently or as part of a team.
Ability to be able to respond calmly in sometimes pressured situations.
Experience of working within the legislation around safeguarding vulnerable adults and children.
Reliable, enthusiastic, patient, non-judgemental and understanding.
A clear understanding of data protection, confidentiality, and information sharing.
Full Driving license, business Insurance and the ability to travel.
Good knowledge of Microsoft office and computer skills.
