We are looking for a highly skilled and passionate B7 Counsellor or CBT/ EMDR Therapist to join our Integrated Mental Health Team (IMHT) based in HMP Lincoln.



You will join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team supporting the needs of adults with secondary care level mental health difficulties in a category B local remand prison setting.



As an integrated team of professionals, we are passionate about implementing psychologically informed care through shared goals and initiatives. Psychology is embedded in the team through Psychologists, Psychological Therapists, Counsellors and Assistant Psychologists to deliver individual and group therapies, psychoeducation groups and stabilisation skills.



We offer regular CPD, training and development opportunities and specialist supervision in CBT/ EMDR if required.



We also support the team to deliver psychologically informed care through consultation, training, supervision and service development. As the psychological professionals in the team, we work together closely, through regular psychology meetings to offer shared reflective space and opportunities for learning and development. Psychologists are part of the leadership team both in the service and the wider Trust. You would be supported to attend regular Psychological Therapies Service developments meetings, where you will be supported by the wider PT service.



This is a full-time post of 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday. We can provide some options of flexible working.



As an Integrative Counsellor, EMDR/CBT Therapist you are responsible for the provision of planned recovery focused care and will provide high intensity interventions to service users.

As part of this role, you will be expected to:

Work flexibly and creatively with a dynamic caseload offering assessments; developing and sharing CBT / counselling formulations; and delivering CBT therapy, integrative counselling, or EMDR.

Contributing towards the development, delivery, and evaluation of group interventions

Working alongside as integral member of the MDT to deliver joint work; and to promote psychological thinking and approaches; and contribute to care plans.

Providing supervision and training within their scope of competencies to junior colleagues.

The Offender Health directorate in Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust provides Healthcare to five prisons and an Immigration Removal Centre in Nottinghamshire, and Lincolnshire. These services include physical healthcare, mental healthcare, and intellectual disability and substance misuse services.



The Care Group also provides specialist treatment for individuals with problematic personality traits at HMP Whatton and North Sea camp (joint NHS/NOMS National Offender Personality Disorder programme) and is now offering OPD services within Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire (community provision). There is currently an Integrated Pathway being developed across 4 prisons: Nottingham, Lowdham Grange, Lincoln and Ranby to provide a holistic service to men who have substance misuse and mental health related challenges. These roles are based across the Offender Health Care Group, offering opportunities for networking and developing skills in a number of different group programmes and individual treatment modalities.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is 26.40 (standard) or 54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.
