Job Summary

To provide a monitoring and control service using CCTV, communication systems and computer based access control systems, within the standards laid down in the Code of Practice and Operational Procedural Manual.

Role details:

Pay rate: 13.85 p/h

Location:

Barnet

Shift Pattern: Contracted hours: 42 hours per week, on a 4-on, 4-off pattern

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

1. To be in possession of a valid SIA Licence for the sector you are working in or have your application for such in the SIA clearing system under the Approved Contractors Scheme.

2. To maintain personal standards of appearance whilst on shift and to ensure your dress is in good order at all times as outlined in the site Assignment Instruction.

3. To monitor and patrol via view-screens effectively and to take any remedial or immediate action and notification as appropriate to events seen or informed about.

4. To record all events and actions taken in a clear, legible and accurate format. Record these onto a computerised format and any other media required.

5. To maintain personal integrity and confidentiality of all information obtained within the CCTV Control Room, at all times, whether written, verbal or by any other means.

6. To ensure all equipment is functioning correctly, carry out equipment checks as required, and to inform immediately all required personnel of faults found. Report all faults in accordance with CCTV Operating Procedural Manual.

7. To ensure security and cleanliness of the CCTV Control Room and ensure equipment is maintained satisfactorily at all times. Ensure access procedures are followed in accordance with the Assignment Instruction and Operation Procedure Manual.

8. To communicate with councils other units and external agencies in a professional and courteous manner at all time.

9. To undertake any special operational duties as required or instructed by the company management and perform any other tasks or duties which the person is reasonably expected to or instructed to undertake.

10. To extract data from digital recorders, copy evidence onto media and complete documentation in accordance with control room procedures. Provide witness statements as and when required.

11. Ensure proper documentation is completed before any media is removed by Police or any authorised personnel as laid down in the assignment instruction and operating procedure.

12. To understand and follow site Assignment Instructions and Operating Procedural Manual as issued by the company and the site CCTV Manager.

13. To pay due regard to the company's Health & Safety Policy. Conduct check calls as required by the site Assignment Instructions.

14. To promote a positive view towards the company, the customer and other staff.

15. To report to management, any faults or defects that may prevent you from carrying out your duties efficiently

16. To pay due regard to the company's Equal Opportunity Policy.

18. To act as relief to cover other staff duties during periods of absence, as and when required

Person specification: REQUIRED Qualifications and Skills

SIA CCTV License is essential

Flexible and adaptable to work shift patterns

Excellent verbal and written English

Excellent telephone skills

IT and Computer Literate

Able to interact with customers

Willing to do rotating shift pattern

Customer service and control room experience

Operators may be required to undergo a police vetting procedure or other approved security clearance before commencing duties as a CCTV operator.

Operators may be required to attend court and give evidence on the basis of their duties as a CCTV operator.
