Job Summary:


Supports the Lead Designer Representative and CDM Coordinator on the project to ensure that duties held by the Principal Designer and Designers, under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 are effectively and robustly coordinated and implemented on the project. Supports review, creation and assessment of key CDM documentation and procedures, as defined in the Lead Designer Plan on the project.



Lead the implementation and management of iTwin and Safetibase with key focus on capturing and managing risk lifecycle from design to construction to handover to stakeholders and operations. Lead on design risk information management within iTwin and its transfer to Safetibase.

Key Responsibilities:

Executes the requirements detailed within the Lead Designer's CDM Management Plan and associated processes and procedures and supports subsequent updates to the CDM Management Plan. Supports liaison and contact with the Principal Designer (HS2 Ltd). Working full time as part of the Mace Dragados design team you will work closely with our designers (AWJV and others) to support not just CDM and Lead Designer obligations but to play a wider functional role that supports, and in some instances champions, compliant delivery and pro-active engagement across wider areas including occupational health, welfare, environmental, sustainability and quality disciplines. Ensures the design risk assessments are maintained and completed by the relevant designers. Manages the provision of health and safety information for the Pre-construction phase provided by the Principal Designer and, with support from the CDM Coordinator and DCM, ensures Supplier PCIP is provided to all relevant parties undertaking design and construction activities on the project. Supports liaison between the CDM Coordinator, Principal Designer and Designers to ensure that residual risk information is being effectively communicated and managed by all parties through iTwin and Safetibase. Supports liaison between the CDM Coordinator, Principal Designer and Designers to ensure that design risk management best practice is adopted and implemented on the project. Routinely attends design team risk meetings and workshops Supports liaison between the CDM Coordinator and Principal Contractor and delivery teams regarding the Health, Safety and Wellbeing of permanent and temporary works designs and interfaces Reviews deliverables to ensure that designers have adequately considered Health, Safety and Wellbeing in the constructability, maintainability, useability, demolition and dismantling of a structure Support designers' preparation of advice and guidance to the project team on all CDM design safety requirements and issues Supports liaison with designers to ensure all design interfaces are identified and risk mitigation measures are effectively implemented and recorded within iTwin and Safetibase. Works with the CDM Coordinator and Principal Designer on the format of the health and safety file information. Reviews deliverables and monitors design process to ensure that design risk management mitigation techniques are implemented, and residual risk information is passed to the relevant parties Promotes and encourages CDM design management best practices to ensure they are adopted throughout all aspects of the design work packages Ensures that design risk registers and health and safety files are coordinated and compiled correctly Working with Design, Delivery and H&S colleagues, support interaction between designers to ensure cooperation and coordination between all parties Manage day to day work of the Safetibase and iTwin - Information Management Technician and Pre-Construction Information Manager

Technical Skills and Competencies:

Extensive knowledge of data management Extensive knowledge of all aspects of the CDM Regulations. Awareness of CDM Design Risk Management Techniques and best practices Awareness of health, safety and wellbeing in design, constructability, maintainability and useability of structures

Qualifications, Certifications and Experience:

Previous experience working in data management Excellent knowledge of CDM and design risk management. Awareness of design and construction techniques and their implications for Health, Safety & Wellbeing
