CE Assembly Team Manager



We are seeking a motivated and experienced CE Assembly Team Manager to lead our growing assembly function for Capital Equipment and Digital/Mechanical Meters. This includes products such as tower tyre inflators, nitrogen systems, carts, ball inflaters, and digital/mechanical meters.

You'll play a pivotal role to ensure that all products are assembled safely, efficiently, on time, and to the highest quality standards. You will drive continuous improvement, lead operational change, and support productivity and cost-reduction initiatives across the department. The successful candidate will also act as deputy to the Production Manager when required.



What you'll be doing



Leading and managing the assembly team to deliver safe, efficient, high-quality production. Maximising productivity and ensure stockholding targets are achieved. Supporting capacity planning, resource allocation, and labour scheduling. Monitoring and reporting on production performance and process issues. Ensuring products are assembled to specification with minimal scrap and rework. Working closely with Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance teams to resolve issues quickly. Providing leadership, coaching, and training to develop a high-performing team. Conducting regular check-ins, one-to-ones, team briefs, and annual appraisals. Leading and supporting change management initiatives and continuous improvement projects (Lean, 5S, Six Sigma). Ensuring equipment and machinery are effectively maintained with minimal downtime. Supporting implementation of new equipment, processes, and technologies. Maintaining accurate production records and ensure full traceability. Communicating effectively with the Production Manager and Despatch Team to meet customer service levels. Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001). Carrying out workplace inspections, risk assessments, and safe systems of work. Act as deputy for the Production Manager when required.



Essential Skills & Experience



Proven experience in a manufacturing/production environment in a supervisor, team leader, or manager role. Strong understanding of production processes, workflows, and equipment. Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills. Working knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and quality management systems. Ability to review, update, and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Experience leading or supporting continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, CI). Confident managing performance, behaviours, and team development. Proficient in Microsoft Office and production planning systems (ERP/MRP). Skilled in conducting Risk Assessments and writing Safe Systems of Work. IOSH Managing Safely (or willingness to obtain).
