This is a fixed term role for 12 months to cover maternity leave, the hours will be 28 hours per week over 4 days and there will be an expectation to travel to London once a week or when support is needed.

St John Ambulance works at the heart of communities, supporting and enabling them to access and receive physical and mental health first aid. We do this through developing and providing effective community response and outreach services (e.g. Ambulance response & Nighttime Economy) and using our longstanding expertise to empower people with vital clinical skills and the confidence to use them (e.g. our Volunteers and Community Advocates, NHS Cadets and Young Responders programmes). Job Summary
The post holder will need to have experience of and understand how to attract, engage and develop new and existing relationships with high profile individuals as part of delivering an impactful celebrity and influencer engagement strategy that helps transform how St John is viewed by the public. You will need to know how to collaborate closely with both communications and fundraising colleagues to build St John's brand, support income generation and build a community first aid movement through building relationships with St John's stakeholders and understanding our societal impact, as well as being aware of owned and earned comms channels, you identify and maximise opportunities to use high profile people to communicate St John's messages.
About You
You will be educated to GCSE level or equivalent (Grade C / 4) including Maths & English, minimum 5

and have experience with the following:
Attracting new celebrities and influencers (without paying a celebrity/influencer fee) relevant to an organisation's values and purpose
In-depth working with high profile people (celebrities and influencers) and talent managers to deliver meaningful engagement
Generating creative ideas/content
Creating and executing a strategy for enhancing a brand through engaging celebrities and high-profile individuals
Collaborating with senior internal stakeholders to manage competing priorities
Using audience insight and landscape awareness to identify celebrities/influencers best able to support the development of a brand
To be successful in this role you will need the following skills:
Collaborative working style, with a movement builder mindset
Excellent writing and verbal communications
Excellent knowledge of the celebrity/charity environment and media landscape
Determination, resilience and ability to think creatively to gain access to celebrities and influencers
Be effective and confident using a range of communication techniques to form new relationships with internal stakeholders and celebrities/talent managers
About the role
Use the celebrity strategy and engagement plan to establish, cultivate, and maintain strong relationships with high profile people including celebrities, influencers and well-known experts, and their representatives, to secure their involvement in St John's services, communications, and fundraising activities
Establish and nurture collaborative, quality relationships with relevant stakeholders across St John to help build the engagement plan for high profile support
Work with the Brand & Communications and Fundraising teams to proactively identify and grow relationships with talent that broadens representation of different, diverse groups that we wish to engage with St John
Keep abreast of the celebrity landscape, inc. new and emerging talents that may be relevant to our key audiences
Work with the Comms team to provide expert consultation on the best use of celebrities, influencers, talent and well-known experts to meet the needs of work required
Keep a record of any interactions with existing relationships with high profile supporters and assess where there are opportunities to leverage these relationships to help deliver St John strategic messages
Develop and participate in a network of counterparts at other charities to maintain a focus on continual improvement and innovation within this field in relation to high profile supporters and upskill St John People to spot opportunities for celebrity engagement
Working with the Brand & Communications and Fundraising teams develop creative concepts which can be used to engage celebrities and amplify their involvement across multiple channels and platforms. Draft briefing notes for celebrities, quotes and news releases about their activity
Work with Brand & Communications and Fundraising teams to establish KPIs and track performance against these, driving learning through evaluation of outcomes
Be a St John ambassador externally, actively networking with talent managers, publicists and other influencers, and professionally stewarding high profile supporters at events and media opportunities
Provide expert counsel internally through active participation in briefings, meetings, and events
Perform any other duties commensurate with these responsibilities, the band of the post and skills and qualifications of the post-holder
