We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Centre Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong office experience and excellent computer skills, with the ability to manage various administrative tasks efficiently. Purpose of the Role
The Centre Administrator is responsible for the effective and efficient day-to-day operation of the two community buildings managed by Tadley & District Community Association (TDCA). The postholder will ensure a welcoming, inclusive, and professional environment for staff, volunteers, hirers, members, and visitors.
This is a diverse and hands-on role encompassing operational management, event coordination, community engagement, financial administration, social media promotion, and health and safety compliance.
Reporting to the Association Manager, the Centre Administrator will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to support the smooth running of all centre activities and services. The successful candidate will be proactive, organised, and personable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities within a busy community-focused setting.
Key Responsibilities
Facilities and Operations Management
Room Bookings:
Administer all room and facility bookings for classes, meetings, and community events. Allocate spaces according to user requirements and coordinate room setup and special arrangements as needed.
Building Maintenance:
Conduct regular internal checks, including weekly fire alarm testing, fridge temperature monitoring, and first aid kit inspections. Report maintenance issues promptly and ensure remedial actions are completed.
Health and Safety:
Support compliance with all relevant legislation and internal policies.
Customer Service and Communication
Front of House:
Act as the first point of contact for in-person, telephone, and email enquiries, providing a professional and courteous welcome to all visitors.
Stakeholder Liaison:
Build and maintain positive relationships with users, staff, volunteers, members, and partner organisations. Communicate regularly with regular hirers to ensure smooth service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Database and Record Management:
Maintain accurate, organised, and secure records relating to bookings, enquiries, and administrative activities.
Community Engagement and Events
Event Coordination:
Plan, organise, and oversee private bookings and assist with the delivery of community events, fundraising activities, and workshops.
Outreach and Promotion:
Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to promote the centre and its services through local partnerships, community noticeboards, the TDCA booklet, and social media platforms, helping to raise visibility and participation.
