Centre Based Youth Worker 1

Resurgam Youth Initiative:

Resurgam Youth Initiative hold 4 specifications within the EA Area Based Funding programme and are keen to recruit a professionally qualified youth worker who can support the Manager, overseeing a number of Sessional Staff and providing support with planning, delivery and measuring impact. The Resurgam Youth Initiative deliver provision in the target areas (Hillhall 1, Hilden 1 & 2, Blaris 1; Knockmore 1 & 2, Ballymacoss 1; Maze 2; Old Warren, Tonagh, Lagan Valley 1 & 2) and link with other providers to ensure Lisburn City has effective and targeted youth work participation.

Resurgam Youth Initiative are a member of Resurgam Trust who oversee community partnership delivery to ensure a holistic service is provided for all in community and not in isolation, leading to a transformative model that enables young people to progress along the 'Pathway of Development' model supporting participation and leadership stages.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Youth Leader with strong managerial skills to oversee and develop youth programme s, mentor young individuals, and manage a team of volunteers and staff. The ideal candidate will have a passion for youth development, leadership experience, and the ability to create a supportive and engaging environment for young people.

Management and Support:

Line Management provided by Youth Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

Programme me Development & Implementation:

Design, coordinate, and implement youth programme s that align with organisational goals and Priorities for Youth.

Needs Assessment:

Carryout needs assessments and develop interventions within areas of deprivation.

Leadership & Mentorship:

Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to young individuals, helping them develop essential life and leadership skills.

Team Management:

Supervise, train, and support volunteers and staff, ensuring effective teamwork and programme delivery.

Event Coordination:

Plan and oversee youth events, workshops, and outreach activities.

Community Engagement:

Foster relationships with parents, schools, and partner community organisations to enhance youth programme impact.

Budget & Resource Management:

Oversee programme me budgets, allocate resources efficiently, and secure funding or sponsorships as needed.

Administrative Duties:

Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation for programme activities and staff performance.

Crisis Management:

Address any conflicts, concerns, or challenges within youth programme s in a timely and professional manner.

Compliance & Safety:

Ensure all youth programme s adhere to legal, ethical, and safety standards.

Safeguarding -

Oversight of administration for safeguarding for example access NI checks.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Community Youth Work, Social Work or related Education field. Previous experience in youth leadership, programme coordination, or managerial roles (5 years' experience) Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills. Ability to inspire, motivate, and engage young individuals. Experience in budget management and fundraising. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic administrative software. Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed (essential)
