Are you passionate about the role of universities in achieving positive social change? Are you an experienced collaborator with the ability to facilitate others in achieving shared goals? If so, you could join Imperial's new Centre for Societal Engagement (CSE) as our Centre Manager.
This is a unique opportunity to shape the new Centre for Societal Engagement both internally and with our external partners, to collaborate and realise the Centre's vision: to ignite curiosity for STEMBin society by scaling, amplifying and better coordinating our institutional collaborations, activities and communications to achieve societal impact locally and globally.
What you would be doing
---------------------------
Over the last decade, Imperial has made great strides in embedding effective societal engagement across the university. The scope of our work includes engaging the public, schools, local communities and patients with STEMB disciplines through a range of needs-based and high-quality activities.
You will join us to help set the direction for even greater societal engagement locally, nationally and globally, contributing to the realisation of Imperial's new Science for Humanity Strategy. The work of the Centre will be shaped by the needs of Imperial's staff and students, as well as our external communities, with a focus on people who are underserved and underrepresented in STEMB opportunities.
Your work will be highly collaborative. You will support colleagues and committees involved in our internal governance and networks, as well as external advisors and stakeholders, enabling them to work effectively to achieve our important mission. This will involve developing stakeholder engagement and programme management approaches.
The workstreams you will enable through the CSE's programme management will be varied and exciting, building on Imperial's current portfolio of societal engagement initiatives and expertise. As Centre Manager, you will scope out the potential for new priorities and support your team members in making informed decisions about the achievability and potential impact of new initiatives.
