This is a temporary 12 month position.

You will be based at one Centre of Excellence campus (Oban, Gourock, or Stornoway), with occasional travel across our network and between campuses.

Role Overview

As a Learning and Development (L&D) Co-ordinator within the Centre of Excellence, you will play a critical role in supporting the planning, coordination, and delivery of training across the organisation. Your work will ensure that all training sessions are delivered efficiently and professionally, with a strong focus on learner experience and operational alignment.

Working closely with the L&D Lead, L&D Specialist and stakeholders, you will manage schedules, coordinate resources, maintain accurate records, and provide frontline support for training logistics and learner communication. You will help create a smooth and structured training environment that allows participants and trainers to focus on learning and development.

Principal Accountabilities

Coordinate training schedules, bookings, and logistics across multiple Centre of Excellence campuses (Oban, Gourock, Stornoway). Prepare training materials, equipment, and resources in advance of delivery. Support trainers with session set-up, printing, attendee communications, and follow-up actions. Maintain accurate training records in the Learning Management System (LMS), SharePoint, or other tracking tools. Monitor and respond to training-related queries from learners, line managers, and other stakeholders. Support onboarding and induction activities by coordinating welcome packs, attendee lists, and venue logistics. Ensure training rooms are set up to the required standard and liaise with facilities teams as needed. Collate and input feedback forms, attendance sheets, and evaluation data to support training review processes. Liaise with internal departments to ensure training aligns with current business changes, system updates, and operational needs. Support the uploading and maintenance of digital training content and resources. Assist with travel and accommodation bookings for trainers or attendees, where necessary. Ensure data protection, confidentiality, and compliance across all administrative practices.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

Proven experience in L&D co-ordination and administration, ideally within an operational environment. Excellent organisation and time management skills, with attention to detail. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-focused approach. Comfortable using Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, and Learning Management Systems. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines. A proactive team player with the flexibility to adapt in a fast-paced environment. * Understanding of training coordination and learner journey is desirable.
