Guideposts Trust is launching a new Talking Therapies service commissioned to deliver Counselling for Depression (CfD) in line with NICE guidelines. We are recruiting:
3 CfD Counsellors (Monday to Friday)
1 CfD Counsellor (Saturdays)
About the Role
You will provide short-term CfD therapy to individuals aged 16+ experiencing mild to moderate depression. Sessions typically span 6-10 weeks, with potential for extension. You'll work collaboratively with clients and professionals to deliver a high-quality, inclusive, and trauma-informed service.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver CfD therapy in accordance with BACP standards
Maintain accurate clinical records and data reporting
Participate in supervision and CPD
Support service development and quality improvement
Adhere to safeguarding and data protection protocols
Essential Criteria
BACP Accredited (or working towards accreditation)
Completed or Part 1 of PCE-CfD training
Experience delivering CfD within Talking Therapies
Strong clinical record-keeping and safeguarding awareness
Commitment to inclusivity, flexibility, and person-centred care
Desirable Criteria
Experience facilitating group counselling
Experience delivering training
Trainee CfD Counsellors x2 - Funded Training Opportunity
Guideposts is offering two funded places for trainee counsellors to complete the PCE-CfD Practitioner Training and join our new Talking Therapies service.
Who Can Apply
BACP registered counsellors
Those who have not yet completed PCE-CfD training but meet the criteria to begin
Individuals committed to working in Talking Therapies and delivering CfD
Training Cohorts Available
Choose from one of the following:
September (6-Day Block): 3rd-5th & 8th-10th September 2025 | Follow-Up: 3rd December 2025
October (Mondays Only): 29th Sept, 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th October 2025 | Follow-Up: 26th January 2026
November (6-Day Block): 5th-7th & 10th-12th November 2025 | Follow-Up: 11th February 2026
