Ferguson Marine, Scotland's last commercial shipbuilder on the lower Clyde, is entering a new era. With over a century of shipbuilding heritage and a renewed strategic vision, the organisation is poised to reclaim its place as a world-class builder of merchant vessels and maritime structures. Following the successful delivery of MV Glen Sannox and the launch of MV Glen Rosa, Ferguson Marine is now seeking a visionary Chair to guide the next chapter of its transformation.
The Opportunity
As Chair, you will:
- Lead the Board in shaping and delivering Ferguson Marine's strategic vision.
- Champion effective governance and commercial success.
- Support the CEO and executive team in securing new contracts and diversifying the business.
- Represent Ferguson Marine to key stakeholders and inspire confidence in its future.
We seek a Chair with:
- Proven leadership in shipbuilding, maritime, or large-scale capital projects.
- Board-level experience and a deep understanding of governance.
- Strategic vision and the ability to influence at the highest levels.
- Stakeholder engagement skills.
Time Commitment: Up to 5 days/month.
