Channel 4 technology is currently undergoing a transformation programme which has seen a restructure of the department, services, and Practices within the wider business. As part of this transformation Programme Channel4 has outsourced and consolidated several It Service providers as well as internal improvements in relation to business engagement activities and how to better support our colleagues.



JOB PURPOSE





Working within a dedicated IT Service management team, The Change, Release & Problem management Assurance Manager is responsible for Management and coordination of all changes, releases and problems across the Channel 4 environment.



You will be closely aligned to our strategic partners and will act as a central point of contact between Channel 4 teams and our associated service suppliers.



There is an expectation on the role to help mature the practices managed by our strategic partners and be an escalation point for should intervention be needed.



You will play a key role in ensuring that change initiatives including people, process and system deployments deliver the targeted benefits and are embedded and sustained for the future. This role is responsible for the governance of the change, release and problem management processes and their activities, not the execution.



KEY REQUIREMENTS:


Maturing of the operational Change, Release and Problem Management processes for Channel 4 Embedding change, release and problem governance for the entire channel 4 estate, working collaboratively with our suppliers and vendors and internal Application teams. Enabling Change & Release management across both traditional waterfall and Agile development methodologies. Championing the Change, Release and Problem processes and managing the integration of wider Channel 4 operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


Fully accountable for the Change, Release and Problem management Strategy, process and tooling enabling the smooth transition of services. Collaborating with suppliers and partners to mature operational governance practices including CAB and Change Schedule effectiveness. Creating a single view of Change & Release activities across all Technology Verticals within Channel 4. Operational escalation point on any issues arising from Changes and driving through any subsequent associated Continual Service Improvement activities. Working directly with our suppliers to assure release and change Management activities and provide feedback to respective Channel 4 teams. Work with Service Management to embed change, Release and Problem management across Channel 4. Build and provide training on Change, Release and Problem management for partners and those that need to engage in the processes. Manage an ongoing programme of service improvement, aligned to wider Service Management initiatives. Effectively communicate and manage expectations of the Project and business during the planning and rollout of new releases as well as post rollout. Accountable for effective Problem Review meetings with stakeholders, and act as a key participant in post major incident review (PMIR) and post change review (PCR) for change and incident management respectively (PIR). Protection of the live environment and its services using formal quality control release procedures and checks. Develop governance process in line with the environments policy. Responsible for Acceptance into service governance.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:





To succeed in this role, you will be capable of both strategic and operational thinking and must not be afraid to roll up your sleeves and get hands on.



The ideal candidate will be an experienced Change, Release and Problem Manger with experience of working with outsourced partners to mature processes and drive improvements.
Proven experience in managing Change, Release and Problem Management in significant programmes or projects using recognised change processes and tools (e.g. ServiceNow and Jira Software) Excellent communication skills Strong stakeholder management skills, able to engage with, and manage stakeholders at all levels Experience in Problem management, with the capability to lead root cause investigations and implement permanent solutions across complex technology environments Expert facilitator Ability to influence others and achieve common goals with a high degree of interpersonal skills Relationship builder, able to quickly build trust with multiple stakeholders Strategic thinking to develop, implement, and sustain a Change, Release and Problem Management framework Great organizational, project, and time management skills ITIL V3 foundation (minimum) V4 Desirable Experience of Change & Release Management practices within Agile Development frameworks including Scaled Agile, Kanban & Scrum



Basic salary per annum starting from



67,813.00
