Job Summary:



The Charge Nurse is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the nursing unit within a private hospital setting. This role involves providing clinical leadership, managing staff, ensuring high standards of patient care, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. The Charge Nurse will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities:



Clinical Leadership:

Provide clinical supervision and support to nursing staff, ensuring best practices and high standards of patient care. Serve as a role model and mentor to junior nurses and healthcare assistants.

Patient Care:

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individual patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team. Ensure all patients receive compassionate and high-quality nursing care. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.

Staff Management:

Coordinate and manage the nursing team, including scheduling, delegation of tasks, and performance appraisals. Conduct regular staff meetings and training sessions to ensure continuous professional development.

Quality and Safety:

Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, infection control protocols, and hospital policies. Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and risk management activities. Address patient complaints and concerns promptly and effectively.

Communication and Collaboration:

Liaise with doctors, allied health professionals, patients, and their families to ensure cohesive and coordinated care. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation. Communicate effectively with the nursing team and other departments to ensure seamless patient care.

Administrative Duties:

Manage the unit's resources, including inventory control, equipment maintenance, and budget adherence. Participate in the recruitment and induction of new nursing staff. Prepare reports and contribute to strategic planning and policy development.

Qualifications and Experience:



Registered Nurse (RN) with a current NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) registration. A minimum of [4] years of nursing experience, with at least [1] years in a leadership or supervisory role. Experience in a private healthcare setting is preferred. Advanced clinical skills and knowledge of current nursing practices and standards. Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to continuous professional development and lifelong learning.

Additional Requirements:



Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required. Proficient in using electronic health records and other healthcare technology systems.
