We have an opportunity for a Charge Nurse (Band 6) to come and support the Clinical leadership at the Learning Disability &/or Autism Wards at Walker Close, Ipswich. We are looking for a senior nurse to provide leadership to the Ward



You will be joining a friendly, motivated and enthusiastic team who are on their journey to outstanding. The wards form part of the acute service for learning disability and autism, along with the Intensive Support Team (IST), who work with people in the community to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions or providing transitional support between services. The acute teams are part of a wider specialist service who all work closely together to create a seamless approach for the clients and their families.





To undertake this role you must hold current RNLD or RMN qualification. We are looking for someone who has knowledge and experience and an interest in working with and supporting people with Learning Disability and/or Autism. In addition, you would need leadership experience of working in a ward environment.

Main duties of the job




Key responsibilities will include:


Demonstrating quality and safety of the ward via a strong governance process. Escalating any safety concerns and acting to mitigate risks. Provide clear junior leadership to the in-patient team and foster a culture of safety and learning. Completing supervisions, appraisals, attendance and performance management Running of the ward environments in absence of the Clinical Team Lead (CTL)

Detailed job description and main responsibilities




As Charge Nurse, you will be expected to take responsibility for supporting your care team, working within governance processes to support the implementation of individualised and responsive care.



You will work supportively and collaboratively with the Clinical Team Lead alongside other charge nurses to ensure the effective management of the ward in all respects, environmental and clinical.
