We're now seeking a highly skilled
Property Tax Expert
to join our specialist team on a flexible, as-needed basis. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience advising on property ownership structures, buy-to-let portfolios, SPVs, and tax-efficient investment strategies.
Role Overview:
You will provide expert tax advice and support for clients involved in property investment, development, and portfolio management. This role is ideal for a
CTA, ATT, or Chartered Accountant
with a deep understanding of UK property tax, including SDLT, capital gains, incorporation relief, and property company setups.
You'll help design and implement tax-efficient structures for property ownership, liaise with our accounting and wealth teams, and ensure full compliance with HMRC requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Advise on
property ownership structures
, including personal, corporate, and LLP setups.
Assist with
property incorporation
, including reliefs and restructuring.
Provide detailed advice on
Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT)
,
Capital Gains Tax (CGT)
, and
income tax
on rental income.
Advise on
furnished holiday lets (FHL)
,
property trading
, and
development
taxation.
Work with solicitors, mortgage brokers, and financial planners to ensure joined-up property strategies.
Review property portfolios for tax efficiency and future planning opportunities.
Stay updated on changing property tax legislation and HMRC guidance.
Key Requirements:
CTA

ATT
,
ACCA
,
ACA
, or equivalent qualification.
Minimum
5+ years' experience
advising on property tax matters.
Proven experience working with
property investors
,
developers
, or
portfolio landlords
.
Strong knowledge of
SDLT
,
CGT
,
incorporation relief
, and
rental income taxation
.
Excellent communication and analytical skills.
Professional, reliable, and comfortable working remotely.
Desirable Skills:
Experience with
non-resident landlords (NRL)
and
offshore property ownership
.
Familiarity with
trust or company structures
for property holding.
Ability to provide advice on
VAT implications
in property development or commercial property.
Ability to join client consultations or planning sessions when needed.
