Chartered Legal Executive Or Solicitor

Birmingham, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

We're offering a fantastic opportunity for a Chartered Legal Executive or Solicitor to join our nationally recognised Insurance Disputes team in Birmingham.

The role

In this role, you'll manage your own caseload of Employers' Liability (EL) and Public Liability (PL) claims, including complex Multi Track matters. You'll also support senior colleagues on high-value catastrophic injury claims, primarily arising from industrial accidents. Experience in healthcare or construction-related injury litigation would be a distinct advantage.

You'll work with a diverse client base, including direct corporate clients, commercial insurers, and third-party administrators acting for Underwriters. Beyond casework, you'll contribute to business development activities through client seminars and team marketing events.

The person

You will have at least 5 years' of experience dealing with personal injury claims and litigation. You will be able to 'hit the ground running', and will have managed your own caseload independently, guiding and directing the resource of others to achieve the agreed strategy and interim objectives in a given piece of litigation. Ideally you will also have experience assisting Partner level fee earners of your team on larger cases.

We are seeking a motivated legal professional with extensive litigation experience and strong advocacy skills. The ideal candidate will possess excellent written English for drafting purposes and demonstrate a solid understanding of insurer client SLAs, reporting formats, and the preparation of management information.

This role requires a self-starter with sound judgment, initiative, and effective time and file management abilities. Strong interpersonal and teamworking skills are essential, along with the ability to influence, persuade, and build lasting relationships with clients and stakeholders. Proficiency in legal research, including the use of online resources, and experience in project management are also key components of this role.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for the role. Therefore, if you are interested, please submit your application as early as possible.

The benefits

As you'd expect, we offer a competitive salary and a wide range of benefits.

Pre employment screening

If we offer you a role, we will conduct comprehensive pre-employment screening. This screening will include, but is not limited to, a basic DBS, verification of your right to work, a three year employment history and a self-declaration to assess your character and suitability for the role. Full details of our pre-screening employment process are available upon request.
