Description

Chartered Structural Engineer
Cardiff
50-70k

Are you a Chartered Civil/Structural Engineer looking for your next challenge?

Due to my clients expanding workload they are looking for a Chartered (or Nearly Chartered) Engineer to join their award winning Building Structures Team in Cardiff, delivering their diverse project portfolio within the Building Design practice across the UK and abroad.

As part of their team you will be managing the production of designs for their clients, which are technically innovative, ethical, sustainable, responsible and fair, on projects which are improving the way people work and live today and in the future.

My clients Building Design practice supplies engineering services across a wide range of projects relating to buildings and infrastructure across sectors including Education, Commercial, Industrial, Residential, Defence, Energy and Transportation. You will have the opportunity to work with major clients on stimulating and high-profile projects that will draw on and develop your skillset and career.

The role requires you to be a Chartered Engineer, MIStructE or MICE (or nearly Chartered).
Experience in successfully leading the structural engineering delivery of small projects including the management of small focused project teams to deliver to agreed deadlines and budgets is necessary.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the design of common structural materials as well as a good understating of current design standards and working practices with proven experience on developing projects from concept to construction stage.

Your responsibilities will include delivering multiple projects or parts of larger projects to completion, within budget and to program. You will ensure the provision of efficient high quality structural engineering design from start to finish.

You will be the first point of contact for clients, contractors, design team and third parties. Whilst offering support and guidance to more junior members of the team. Effectively manage own time which may be necessary if allocated to more than one project. Within this position you will build client relationships and help identify business opportunities.

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary it will be discussed with you at interview.

They support flexible working arrangements and are interested to discuss how we can accommodate individual requirements, where there is no fixed 9 \'till 5, no need for a 5-day week, no requirement for a full-time contract, and no requirement to spend all your working time in the office.

They offer a competitive salary that is regularly tested against other consultants with a default 25-days leave each year plus bank holidays and options to buy some or sell of that leave. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

If you are interested in this role, please contact Evie Thornton at Calibre Search for more information, or click apply.

Calibre Search promote equality in the workplace and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified candidates regardless of their sex, race, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age. We act as both an employment agency and employment business.
