Position Overview:

The Chef will oversees daily kitchen operations, ensuring food is prepared to the highest standards of quality, presentation, and safety. This role involves working with kitchen and FOH supervisors to maintain efficient workflows, assisting with menu planning, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The Chef will support the Kitchen team in delivering consistent excellence and a positive kitchen environment. And Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff during service and prep. Ensure all dishes are prepared according to recipes, presentation standards, and portion guidelines. Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness. Monitor kitchen inventory, order supplies, and minimize waste. Assist with menu development and daily specials, and costing. Train, mentor, and motivate kitchen staff to maintain strong team performance. Ensure smooth communication between kitchen and front-of-house teams. Conduct regular inspections of work areas, equipment, and storage. Manage shift schedules and delegate tasks efficiently. Support cost control initiatives and help manage food and labor budgets. Cook and assist kitchen staff during service, whilst remaining calm and professional during busy periods.
Qualifications & Experience:

Minimum 2-3 years of professional kitchen experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role. Formal culinary qualification or equivalent experience preferred. Strong understanding of food safety, HACCP, and allergen management. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Passion for high-quality food and team collaboration.

Skills required:

Experience of working in a busy kitchen

Creative at making dishes but also able to work to specs and create specs.

Experience of menu planning and costs

good Knowledge of HACCP, Food hygiene and health and safety.

Allergen awareness

Able to manage multiple orders

Professionalism and reliability

Remain calm under pressure

Good time management

Level 2 basic food hygiene is an advantage

Duties include:

The taking of deliveries

Food preparation

Producing specials

Baking

Prepare, cook, and present food quickly and efficiently to a high standard

Monitor portion size and waste

Key holder to open and close site.
