We are seeking a skilled and passionate chef to join our kitchen team at The Focacceria as the business expands. The ideal candidate will have a passion for local produce, be organised, works clean and is well suited to working as part of a team in an open kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the kitchen team, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of food preparation and presentation
Oversee all aspects of food production, from ingredient sourcing to final plating, maintaining consistency and quality
Develop innovative menus in collaboration with management and the bakery team.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
Manage inventory, order supplies, and control food costs effectively
Train and mentor junior staff, fostering a positive and professional working environment
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Monitor kitchen operations during service hours to uphold efficiency and quality standards
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in accordance with health regulations
Qualifications
Proven experience in a culinary role within a busy restaurant or hospitality environment
Supervising experience is highly desirable, demonstrating leadership capabilities in a fast-paced setting
Strong skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety practices
Excellent team management abilities with the capacity to motivate staff and foster teamwork
Extensive knowledge of kitchen equipment, ingredients, and culinary trends
Previous experience in food production and restaurant service is preferred
Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of kitchen management
A recognised culinary qualification or equivalent professional training is advantageous
