We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join our team in our traditional country pub near Cirencester. We cater for events, tourists and our close-knit community alike and have the pub, restaurant and 4 newly-refurbished BnB rooms. The ideal candidate will have a strong work and team ethic with a high standard of food safety.
Duties
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
Support the head and senior sous chef
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance
Assist in menu planning and development, and contribute ideas for events
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety standards
Ensure food quality and presentation before serving to customers
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery under the guidance of the head and senior sous chef
Aid stock control and control food costs effectively with the team
Requirements
Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management within a restaurant or hospitality setting
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food production
Good understanding of hospitality operations and customer service standards
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Previous restaurant experience is preferred; serving experience is an added advantage
Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are desirable but not essential
