Job Overview

We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our vibrant and eco-conscious canteen team. Our goal is to feed as many people amazing vegan food as possible.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plant-based food production and preparation, with a keen understanding of vegan nutrition, food safety, and hospitality. As a Chef, you will play a key role in creating exceptional dining experiences that support sustainable, plant-based living.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient production and preparation of plant-based meals. Develop and continue to help evolve our innovative vegan menu. Hold a collaborative and inclusive team environment. Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations, ensuring vegan and allergen safety. Assist in inventory management, including ordering plant-based supplies and managing stock levels to reduce waste. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and exceptional customer satisfaction. Monitor food quality and presentation, to meet our standards of creativity and taste. Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere in the kitchen, encouraging creativity and teamwork around plant-based cuisine. Be available to work some weekends (not all)

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Chef in a vegan, plant-based, or similar kitchen environment. Excellent knowledge of vegan food safety regulations, nutrition, and best practices in plant-based food handling. Proficient in a variety of cooking techniques and cuisines, with a passion for plant-based culinary arts. Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with both kitchen and front-of-house teams. A commitment to delivering high-quality, delicious vegan dishes that exceed customer expectations while promoting sustainability.
