Burnley Leisure & Culture is an award winning not-for-profit charity that generates over 7m of income through its charitable activity and commercial hospitality activities. Our hospitality teams operate across seven venues in Burnley and we are looking for a talented chef to join our ever expanding team.
##Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Chef to join our team in preparing delicious meals and overseeing kitchen operations reporting into the Lead and Head Chefs. The successful candidate will help lead the kitchen team, ensuring high-quality food production and adherence to food safety standards.
## Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise kitchen staff in food preparation and cooking
- Create innovative menus and recipes whilst maintaining high standards
- Oversee stock control, ordering, and budget management
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen
- Train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques and procedures
- Monitor food quality and presentation before serving
## Requirements
- Proven experience working in a restaurant or similar culinary environment
- Strong leadership skills to effectively manage a team
- In-depth knowledge of culinary arts, food production, and techniques
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices
- Excellent organisational skills to coordinate kitchen activities efficiently
