Skuna Boats was launched in 2017 with a mission to provide unique water-based experiences. Since then, we have grown into an award-winning attraction and one of London's most loved tourist experiences.
Currently, we offer three experiences with our Hot Tub, Sauna, and Igloo boats, creating unforgettable moments for our guests. We are now looking for a skilled and passionate Chef to join our team and prepare high quality food on-site for customers enjoying our boat experiences.
Role Overview
Skuna needs an additional chef/ kitchen manager to run the food operation for our Igloo boats this winter. This is a hands-on, outdoor-based role that blends elements of hospitality, customer service, and kitchen operations in a dynamic and unique environment.
The Chef will be responsible for preparing and serving a set menu for customers embarking on our boat experiences. The kitchen setup is minimal and the chef will need to be comfortable working independently. Bookings are generally made in advance, allowing us time to prepare. This role requires a skilled chef to work efficiency in a fast-paced environment, and a strong focus on food hygiene and safety. The Chef will work closely with the operations and FOH teams to ensure that all food is prepared to high standards and served promptly to enhance the overall customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, cook, and present food to a high standard for customers boarding our boats.
Monitor stock rotation, food storage, and ingredient quality to minimise waste and maintain efficiency.
Work collaboratively with the site team to ensure seamless food service during boat departures.
Follow all food hygiene procedures, including allergen awareness and safe food handling.
Ensure timely and efficient service while maintaining excellent presentation of all food items.
Complete stock counts and place orders for upcoming bookings.
Support the team in maintaining a smooth and enjoyable dining experience for all guests.
The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a skilled, passionate, and proactive chef who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working in an interactive, customer-focused setting.
Key Skills and Experience:
Previous experience as a Chef, Cook, or Kitchen Team Member in a restaurant, catering, or hospitality setting.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment while maintaining food quality and safety.
Strong knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety regulations (Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate preferred).
Excellent time management and organisational skills.
Experience working with grills, fondue, and hot food preparation is a plus.
A passion for creating high-quality food and delivering an outstanding experience.
Positive attitude, teamwork, and excellent communication skills.
Salary and Benefits
Pay Range: 14.00-15.50 per hour (DoE) including service charge.
