Part Time Chef and Care Assistant - This is a dual aspect role - please only apply if you are able to carry out both roles.
Lennox Lodge are looking for a Part time Chef/Care Assistant to join our Residential Care home in Bexhill-on-Sea. The position is for 24 hours per week split between working in the kitchen and on the floor as a Care Assistant. The role includes working morning shifts, afternoon shifts and weekends.

Key Responsibilities as a Chef in the Kitchen:
Plan, prepare cook and serve nutritious and well-balanced meals tailored to our residents' dietary needs, preferences, and health requirements ensuring that all meals are presented in a hygienic and attractive manner.
To collaborate with the Kitchen Manager to create the weekly menus with our residents' preferences and requests in mind whilst keeping within a budget.
To maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations. A good understanding H.A.A.C.P would be essential.
To ensure that all the required procedures of our Safer Food Better Business food hygiene module are adhered to and all records are completed daily.
To manage stock levels and stock rotation to minimize food waste. To contribute to the ordering and unpacking of Stock.
Collaborate with care staff to accommodate special dietary requirements, including allergies and medical conditions.
Build positive relationships with residents, making mealtimes a highlight of their day.
What We're Looking For:
Previous experience as a Chef/Cook, ideally in a care home, healthcare, or similar environment.
Knowledge of dietary requirements, including allergies, soft diets, and fortified meals.
A passion for cooking and creating meals that bring joy and comfort.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
A team player with excellent communication skills.
Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or above) - would be desirable but not essential, as training can be provided.
Key Responsibilities as a Care Assistant
You will be required to:
Provide personal care to each resident in accordance with their care plan.
Work in a person centred way, ensuring residents retain their dignity and individuality at all times.
Be involved in the general activities of the home.
Maintain a safe and secure environment for all residents, staff members and visitors.
Skills and Attitudes needed:
A friendly, approachable, caring and helpful nature
A genuine commitment to providing our residents with the very highest standards of care
An ability to communicate effectively when speaking or writing, and be comfortable with using a computer
Motivation to work both individually and as part of a team
Willingness to complete all required training (Moving & Handling , Health & Safety, Safeguarding etc)
An ability to Show Compassion, Empathy & Commitment to all within the home
NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care - preferred but not essential. We are ideally looking for someone with a passion to work in care, and training will be provided as needed.
