Duties

Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient food production and preparation. Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to foster a collaborative team environment. Prepare and cook high-quality dishes, adhering to recipes and presentation standards. Manage inventory, ordering supplies as needed while minimising waste. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen. Train new staff members on cooking techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen procedures. Collaborate with management to develop seasonal menus that reflect current culinary trends. Maintain positive relationships with suppliers to ensure the best quality ingredients are sourced.

Skills

Proven experience in a culinary role, preferably within a restaurant setting. Strong supervisory experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively. Excellent cooking skills with an emphasis on food preparation techniques. Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in kitchen management. Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of food production. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality and service. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and management. A passion for hospitality and delivering an outstanding dining experience for guests.
