We are seeking an experienced Chef to run the kitchen. We are a new bar/pub currently with a snack menu and wanting to expand to a full menu and want to deliver exceptional dining experiences. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes, cooking to order and ensuring food safety standards are maintained. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase their skills in a dynamic hospitality environment, sourcing local produce and creating tasty, fresh dishes. The Chef will play a vital role in menu development, maintaining the highest standards of food presentation and taste with a push to grow the food offering and kitchen team. Part of the menu will have a Brazilian influence - knowledge of Brazilian food would be an advantage, but not essential.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to health and safety regulations
Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and quality standards
Develop innovative menus / specials that reflect current culinary trends while meeting customer preferences
Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards across all kitchen activities
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock control efficiently
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Ensure all food production aligns with organisational policies and customer expectations
Lead by example in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment
In the future, as the customer base increases and additional kitchen staff are required to supervise and manage kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to foster a cohesive team environment
Experience
Proven experience within a professional kitchen setting
A background in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques
Ability to manage a diverse team effectively
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality environments
Previous experience working in pubs/restaurants or similar food service establishments
Familiarity with food presentation standards and serving procedures
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
A passion for cooking, food preperation, and creating dishes with an innovative approach and using fresh produce
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: 12.21-15.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
