We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to head up our kitchen. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role involves overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation are maintained at all times. The Chef will be responsible for managing staff, developing menus, and maintaining efficient kitchen workflows in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Duties
Lead and supervise the kitchen team, to ensure smooth daily operations
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to uphold quality standards and consistency
Develop innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends while catering to customer preferences
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene throughout the kitchen
Manage food production schedules to meet service times without compromising quality
Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and control inventory to minimise waste and maximise efficiency
Provide training and mentorship to junior staff, fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in accordance with health and safety legislation
Experience
Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen setting, ideally in a restaurant or hospitality environment
Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation skills
Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse teams effectively
Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations is essential
Experience in menu development, food production management, and maintaining high standards of quality assurance
Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant settings is highly desirable
Strong understanding of serving procedures and customer service principles is advantageous
