Duties
Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring that food production meets quality standards.
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, adhering to recipes and presentation standards.
Manage kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure effective teamwork.
Maintain inventory levels of food supplies and order as necessary to ensure smooth operations.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.
Collaborate with management to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings.
Train new kitchen staff in food preparation techniques and safety practices.
Monitor food waste and implement strategies for minimising waste in the kitchen.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
Strong culinary skills with an understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
Excellent leadership abilities with experience in team management.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of food quality.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation.
Creative flair with the ability to contribute innovative ideas for menu development.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively lead the team.
