Join Our Team as a Nursery Chef at The Early Years Academy!



Are you a passionate and experienced chef looking for a rewarding role in a vibrant childcare environment? The Early Years Academy is seeking a talented

Nursery Chef

to join our team, preparing delicious and nutritious meals for up to

100 children daily

.

Responsibilities



Plan, prepare, and cook well-balanced, healthy meals, catering to a variety of dietary needs, including

allergies and intolerances

. Collaborate on

menu creation

, ensuring children's nutritional requirements are met with fresh, seasonal ingredients.

Lead on Environmental Health Officer (EHO) inspections

, ensuring the kitchen meets and exceeds all compliance standards

Monitor and order stock

in line with planned menus, ensuring cost efficiency and waste reduction. Maintain the

cleanliness of the kitchen area

and equipment, ensuring high hygiene standards at all times. Lead and participate in our

Baking Academy

, inspiring young children to engage with cooking and healthy eating in a fun, educational setting. Ensure compliance with

health, safety

, and

food hygiene

regulations, maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment. Work independently as a

lone worker

, managing time effectively to meet deadlines.

What We're Looking For



Proven experience in catering for

large groups

, particularly children, in a nursery, school, or similar setting.

Essential Qualifications

:

Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate

. Certification in

Allergies and Dietary Requirements

. Strong understanding of

Early Years catering

and the importance of nutrition for young children. Ability to adapt meals to meet individual dietary needs and

allergy management

requirements. Self-motivated, able to work independently, and confident managing multiple tasks to meet strict deadlines. Experience in managing

kitchen stock levels

and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. A positive, collaborative attitude aligned with
