We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join the team in our busy Cafe. The ideal candidate will work alongside another chef to preparing high-quality dishes. The successful applicant will possess good communication skills, a passion for food, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality output.
Manage food production processes, ensuring timely delivery of meals during service hours.
Oversee food safety procedures, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards across the kitchen area.
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to meet customer expectations and special dietary requirements.
Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative culinary techniques.
Monitor stock levels, place orders for supplies, and manage inventory effectively.
Train new team members in food preparation, safety protocols, and service standards.
Skills
Proven experience within a professional kitchen environment.
Extensive knowledge of food production, preparation, and cooking techniques.
Excellent understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently.
Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and front-of-house staff.
