We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/ Pastry Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to delivering high-quality meals in a fast-paced environment. As a Line Cook, you will play an essential role in food preparation, cooking, and ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly. Your culinary expertise will contribute to creating memorable dining experiences for our guests.
Duties
Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner while maintaining high quality
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including workstations and equipment
Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
Assist in meal preparation for special events or large groups as required
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient service during busy periods
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and report shortages to the kitchen manager
Participate in training new kitchen staff on cooking techniques and safety procedures
Requirements
Proven experience in a kitchen environment, preferably in a restaurant setting
Strong culinary skills with knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques
Familiarity with food safety practices and regulations
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues
A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new culinary skills
Previous experience in meal preparation or serving is advantageous
