Sole & Duck is a local, independent modern British restaurant on the High Street of Trumpington, Cambridge. The restaurant offers a refreshing take on British cuisine by bringing exotic Asian influences and perspectives to produce contemporary menus.

Key Responsibilities



Provide vital support to the head chef and senior chefs to consistently deliver delicious dishes that meet the restaurant's high standards. Work alongside the head chef and other chefs during food preparation and service. Take responsibility for a designated section and report to the head chef and senior chefs. Maintain productivity levels throughout the shift. Adhere to food safety standards at all times and keep the kitchen clean and organised in compliance with health and safety regulations. Assist with other kitchen duties as required. Participate in daily kitchen operations, including setting up workstations and cleaning up after service.

Experience, Knowledge and Competency



Must have at least two years of experience as Chef de Partie in fresh food kitchens. Experience in fine dining restaurants is a great advantage. Capable of running a kitchen section independently. Proficient in inventory management, stock rotation and storage for the section. Strong knowledge of food hygiene. Excellent time management skills. Able to stay composed during busy service times. Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Salary



From 500 per week. Competitive depending on relevant experience.

Job Type



Full-time with a fixed-term contract. 5 days per week (Wednesday to Sunday). Must be able to work on Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Christmas Day and other bank holidays as required.
