, a contemporary restaurant and bar within Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre, opening in late October 2025.
We are looking for
skilled and passionate Chef de Parties / Line Cooks
to join the opening team at Songbird. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a
fast-paced, creative environment
delivering premium food to theatre-goers and local diners.
As a Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for running your own section of the kitchen, preparing dishes to the highest standard, and supporting the team to ensure smooth and efficient service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Cooking & Food Preparation
? Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to the menu and recipes.
? Manage your station efficiently during service, ensuring quality and timing.
? Assist with menu development and daily specials as directed by the Head Chef.
? Portion, season, and garnish dishes consistently.
? Support prep work for other kitchen sections when required.
Kitchen Support & Hygiene
? Maintain a clean, tidy, and hygienic workstation at all times.
? Ensure correct storage of ingredients and monitor stock levels.
? Wash and maintain kitchen equipment and utensils.
? Follow all food hygiene, cleaning, and allergen procedures.
? Receive and check deliveries for quality and correct storage.
Health & Safety
? Adhere to all health, safety, and COSHH guidelines.
? Wear the correct uniform and PPE at all times.
? Report accidents, hazards, or equipment faults immediately.
? Support colleagues during busy service periods to maintain a safe working environment.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Required:
? Proven experience as a Chef de Partie / Line Cook in a high-volume kitchen.
? Strong knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards.
? Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
? Team player with a willingness to take direction.
? Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.
? Over 18 years old (due to venue policies).
Desirable:
? Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate.
? Experience in theatre, events, or high-volume hospitality.
? Interest in menu development and seasonal ingredients.
