We are seeking a dedicated and skilled chef de partie to join our team here at Ember! Now open in Pontcanna, Cardiff. Our focus is on seasonal British produce, fresh pasta, breads, butchery and in-house charcuterie. Quality ingredients and expert preparation are at the heart of everything we do, showcasing the best of local and seasonal flavours. Our menu changes often and we want someone who is as passionate about food and hospitality as we are.
Duties
Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
Assist with the daily meal preparation, ensuring all ingredients are fresh and ready for use
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils
Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the highest standards of hygiene are met
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods
Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages to management
Participate in training new kitchen staff as required
Skills
Proficient in food preparation techniques and cooking methods
Previous kitchen experience, preferably in a restaurant setting
Culinary experience with an understanding of various cuisines is advantageous
Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively within a team environment
Experience in serving dishes and presenting food attractively
