The Half Moon Inn is a gastro pub which prides itself on serving high quality food and drink in a relaxed atmosphere with great customer service.  
We are looking to recruit a full-time chef working 40 hours per week.

Role and Responsibilities  
The role of the chef is to assist in all aspects of the food preparation whilst developing their skills in order to be able to take more responsibility and deputise for others, for example during holidays.
To assist in the overall operation of the kitchen: food preparation & service; hygiene and stock control.
To prepare food for service to the specification required.
To maintain a high level of hygiene in working practices at all times.
To receive deliveries and maintaining stock in a diligent & hygienic manner.
To operate kitchen equipment in a safe manner.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Food Hygiene level 2 (Basic Food Hygiene)
Studying professional cookery qualification such as City and Guilds 7100
Preferred Skills
Ability to work unsupervised in the Head Chef's absence.
Willingness to contribute to the development of new menu ideas.
A flair for cooking and presenting food to a high standard.
Additional Notes
Uniform -- Chef's whites will be provided however it is the individual's responsibility to ensure that these are laundered.
The use of mobile phones at work is restricted to breaks except in cases of emergency.
Staff are allowed to use the pub as a customer when not on duty, however:
They must not be in uniform
They must not serve themselves drinks or food
They must not be seen to be intoxicated whilst on the premises
Holidays cannot be taken in December and you must be prepared to work the festive period, including Christmas day.

Pay: 29,120.00 per year
