Job Summary:
The Chef de Partie (Hot Section) will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and cooking of dishes in the hot section of the kitchen. This role requires a deep understanding of Turkish culinary traditions, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a passion for creating high-quality, flavourful dishes. The ideal candidate should have experience in Turkish cuisine and a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparation & Cooking:
Prepare, cook, and present dishes from the hot section, including grill area, preparing and cooking steaks ensuring the highest standards of quality and taste.
Menu Development:
Assist the Head Chef in developing and refining the hot section menu, incorporating traditional Turkish ingredients and techniques.
Quality Control:
Ensure all dishes are prepared to the restaurant's standards, paying close attention to detail, flavor, and presentation.
Inventory Management:
Monitor and manage inventory for the hot section, including ordering ingredients, maintaining stock levels, and minimizing waste.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other kitchen staff to coordinate cooking and service, ensuring efficient and timely food delivery.
Hygiene & Safety:
Maintain strict hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen, complying with all health and safety regulations.
Training & Development:
Mentor and train junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to help them develop their skills.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of 1 years experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role, preferably in a Turkish or Mediterranean restaurant. Minimum of 1 year experience as a grill chef.
Culinary Skills:
Strong knowledge of Turkish cuisine, including traditional cooking techniques, ingredients, and dishes.
Education:
Formal culinary training or equivalent experience.
Passion:
A genuine passion for cooking and a deep appreciation for Turkish culinary traditions.
Skills:
Excellent cooking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment.
Team Player:
Ability to work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff.
Adaptability:
Flexibility to adapt to menu changes, busy periods, and customer preferences.
Communication:
Good communication skills and the ability to take and give instructions effectively.
