We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join the Ginger Pig team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a keen understanding of food safety practices. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality meals to our guests while maintaining the standards of our kitchen. This position requires teamwork, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence in culinary arts.
Duties
Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping, marinating, and measuring.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including workstations and equipment.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
Monitor stock levels of ingredients and communicate needs to the kitchen manager.
Help train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
Participate in menu planning and development by providing input on new dishes or improvements.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a cook or in a similar role within a restaurant or kitchen environment is preferred.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for food handling.
Strong culinary skills with an ability to prepare various types of cuisine.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail in meal preparation.
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
A team player with good communication skills who can collaborate with others efficiently.
Passion for cooking and willingness to learn new techniques within the culinary field.
