The Castle Green Hotel in Kendal is a four-star, 99-bedroom hotel with restaurant, bar, 6 conference rooms, 2 banqueting suites, pub on site, leisure club and treatment rooms.

Job Overview

The Chef de Partie is responsible for managing a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring consistent preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes in line with the hotel's standards. The role supports the Head Chef and Sous Chef by maintaining excellent food hygiene, stock control, and teamwork, while contributing to menu delivery, guest satisfaction, and the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen operation.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

Passion for food Recognised professional cookery qualification or equivalent practical experience Experience of working in a high-volume, quality-focused kitchen environment

Main Responsibilities

Take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of an assigned kitchen section, ensuring dishes are prepared and presented to the required standard Prepare, cook, and present food in line with recipes, portion controls, and hotel standards Support the senior chefs in delivering consistent, high-quality food across all services, including restaurant, banqueting, and events Assist with stock control, ordering, rotation, and minimising food waste within the section Ensure correct storage, labelling, and temperature control of food items Train, supervise, and support team members as required Work collaboratively with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth and efficient service Ensure all equipment within the section is used safely and reported for maintenance when required Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and health & safety

Permanent contract 45 hours per week 13.00 per hour No live in accommodation
