The Copthorne Hotel Newcastle

is seeking an experienced Chef de Partie who will be responsible for overseeing a section of the kitchen to ensure that it runs smoothly and in accordance with four star standards and guest expectations.

What are we expecting from a Chef de Partie?

Prepare mise-en-place for all menus, prepare, cook and present food as per kitchen manual, including staff meals. Prepare all dishes as instructed by Head and/or Sous Chef ensuring correct portion control as instructed by Head Chef. Operate and clean equipment correctly and safely, adhering to maintenance and cleaning schedules. Ensure work areas are kept clean, safe and tidy at all times. Supervise Commis Chefs. Control the security of company stock and property. Adhere to all regulations in respect of Health, Safety, Hygiene, Guest Safety, Fire Regulations, Emergency Procedures etc. To display a pleasant manner and positive attitude at all times and to promote a good company image to colleagues.

The ability to work 5 shifts out of 7 on a rota basis, weekend work is included

Situated on the iconic Newcastle Quayside overlooking the famous River Tyne, the Copthorne Hotel Newcastle is perfect for both the business and leisure traveller. Dining facilities at the hotel include The Quay 7 Restaurant which offers an a la carte menu with a variety of seasonal dishes. The Quay 7 bar and outdoor terrace offer an extensive wine list and a selection of beers and spirits, along with a variety of hot beverages.
