We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook to join our vibrant kitchen team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for culinary arts and be committed to delivering high-quality food preparation in a fast-paced gastropub environment. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our meals are prepared to perfection, adhering to food safety standards while maintaining a clean and organised kitchen. There is also an option for accomodation on site.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards. Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and measuring spices. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all surfaces and equipment are sanitised. Follow food safety protocols to ensure the highest quality of meals is served. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages or needs to the kitchen manager. Help train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and safety practices.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a culinary or food preparation role is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in meal preparation. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy restaurant environment. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and preparation. Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues in the kitchen. A passion for cooking and creating delicious meals that delight customers.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Freelance, Zero hours contract

Pay: 12.21-18.00 per hour
