Overview

Toby Cottage restaurant is seeking a passionate and skilled Line Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a commitment to delivering high-quality meals in a fast-paced restaurant environment. As a Line Cook, you will play an essential role in meal preparation, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of taste and presentation while adhering to food safety regulations.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards. Assist in the daily meal preparation, ensuring all ingredients are fresh and properly stored. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all guests. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours. Monitor stock levels of ingredients and communicate needs to the kitchen manager. Participate in training new kitchen staff as required.

Requirements

Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant setting is preferred. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods. Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail. A passion for culinary arts and a desire to learn and grow within the kitchen team. Previous experience in meal preparation or serving is advantageous but not essential.
