We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join our kitchen team. Busy cafe environment. Usual set hours Thursday - Sunday. Finishing at 5pm sometime required to stay until 8:30pm ALTERNATE SUNDAYS OFF
The ideal candidate will have experience in the food industry and know how to work at pace. Have confidence and also has a creative side for our specials board.
You will be working alongside a well trained kitchen porter on those set days.
As Chef, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen, contributing to the overall success of our cafe and enhancing the dining experience for our guests.

Duties
Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
Assist in the management of kitchen operations, ensuring that food production is efficient and timely.
Supervise and support junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages to management.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth service during busy periods.
Help develop new menu items and contribute creative ideas for specials.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary role within the hospitality or restaurant industry.
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques (knife skills, time- keeping, cleanliness ) and culinary skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in food production.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
A passion for cooking and a desire to continually improve culinary skills.
Have diverse knowledge and is eager to improve and collaborate on new recipes.
We have a starting wage with a view to increase within 6 months, this is performance based.
